About

My design aesthetic

“Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication.”

Originally from Japan, my approach to design is deeply influenced by Japanese minimalism—adding only what’s necessary and removing the rest. I’m drawn to clarity, restraint, and purpose, shaped by design traditions influenced by Zen philosophy.

Everyday objects like tatami mats embody this mindset: elegant, functional, and intentional. They maximize space, regulate comfort, and include nothing extraneous. That philosophy guides how I approach digital product design—creating experiences that are intuitive, thoughtful, and quietly powerful.

A little bit about me

Made in Tokyo, based in San Francisco.

When I’m not designing, you’ll likely find me swimming in open water (ocean, bay, or river), learning bocce, practicing the tea ceremony, playing the piano, or seeking out independent films and live music or dance performances. I love spontaneous travel and activities that bring inspiration and balance to both my life and my work.
